About Hemp (CBD) Oil
FAQ-Questions & Answers about Hemp (CBD) Oil
Q1. Does it work for "insert your condition"?
A1. The FDA does not allow us to make any claims about what CBD Hemp Oil can do or may do for you. However, what we CAN pass along is that we have numerous customers using our products regularly for things such as Cancer, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Arthritis, Insomnia, Anxiety, Migraines and so much more. While CBD does not help everyone with their condition, we have many people who return regularly. The only way you will know if it will help you is to try it. (If you need further advice, your doctor or medical practitioner might be able to help.)
Q2. How Much Should I Take?
A2. Unfortunately, there is no definitive scientific answer to this. It truly requires some trial and error to get the right amount for you and your condition. However, with patience and practice, you should be able to get to that "happy point" in just a few days of working with it.
Starting suggested dosage ( .25 x bodyweight=mg per day)
The approach we recommend is to begin taking a particular amount, twice a day for the first 3-4 days to build it up in your system and so you can truly see what it is doing. After this amount of time, increase or decrease the amount you are taking based on the results you are seeing.
Q3: How long does it take to work? Does it take days?
A3: When taking enough, it generally only takes about 20-30 minutes for it become effective. Most people when first starting out do not know what to expect and often overlook that it is beginning to help their condition. Since there is no "high" to report, most people do not know that it is doing anything. Only after a while do they realize that any pain they may have had is no longer there, or not as intense. The "feeling" is so subtle that usually all that is able to be identified is a subtle calming. After several uses, many people have reported that they now notice it "taking the edge" off minutes after administering. However, for most newcomers, they expect a huge change and it’s just not like that, unless it’s being used for pain management. A gentle release of the pain is usually noticeable when taking these products in proper amounts.
Q4: What is the best way for me to take it: drops? Vape? Extract?
A4: Everyone is different in how their body responds to these products. There is no single answer to this question. What we CAN say is that most of our customers prefer to start with Drops, then, branching out from there. The drops are typically the easiest to determine serving sizes, and when flavored, tend to taste good. One has to want to vape in order to try the vape products. The extract does not typically taste very good and is difficult to measure a particular dose.
What works best for you is truly a personal thing. Some people respond well to drops, but not at all to vaping these products. Some people respond very well to vaping, but see little results when ingesting it through drops. It is all a trial and error thing that you simply have to test for yourself to find that "single best way.”
Q5. If I am taking the Drops, how will I know how many drops to use? The bottle says: Serving Size - 10 Drops.
A5. This is an excellent question. First, let's talk about the posted Serving Size: The FDA makes us treat these products as a food product. And, as such, we HAVE TO post some arbitrary Serving Size on the product. But, it is just that, ARBITRARY. As for how much to take, please see Question and Answer 2 above.
Now, as for how many drops, this requires only simple math. The key point you need to consider is that our 2oz bottles have 60ml, 60 droppers. The higher the mg the less often you have to take depending on your starting minimum dosage.
Our 250mg2oz bottle: 250mg =4.25mg/ml (dropper full)
Our 500mg 2oz bottle: 500mg =8.5mg/ml (dropper full)
Our 1000mg2oz bottle: 1000mg=17mg/ml (dropper full)
Our 1500mg2oz bottle: 1500mg=25.5mg/ml (dropper full)
Our 2500mg 2oz bottle: 2500mg =42.5mg/ml (dropper full)
Q6: When using the drops, how should I take them?
A6: When using the drops, the best way to take them is sublingually. The easiest way to do this is by setting a spoon on a counter and dripping the desired number of drops (see Question/Answer #2 and #5 above) into the spoon. Then, by putting the spoon into your mouth, put the liquid under your tongue for about 90 seconds, then swallow. For those who prefer to take their drops in a drink. However, because the stomach acids work very quickly to break down the cannabinoids, it is only partially effective. When taking in drinks/foods, we recommend taking approximately twice as much as if you are taking it sublingually.
Q7: When using the Vape Oil, how do I know how much CBD I'm getting?
A7: Unfortunately, there is no easy way to answer this question because it truly depends on how long of drag you take and how long you hold each drag in before exhaling.
How most people go about it is by having a single cartridge dedicated to their Hemp Vape Oil. They use it periodically throughout the day. In addition, depending on how long the drag is held in will also affect how much CBD actually gets into a person's body.
Q8: Can I take too much? Will it hurt me?
A8: We are not doctors and we are not knowledgeable about your particular health condition, so you have to get medical advice from your practitioner. However, what we can say is that typically, it is virtually impossible to take too much. We use the following analogy: Can you eat too much spinach? Well, the answer is yes. You can. However, you would have to eat such an unimaginable amount that it is not realistic to think you could truly eat too much spinach. The same holds true for these products. It is not realistic to think you could take too much, but of course, at some level it would be possible. (Again, please consult your physician regarding your specific situation)
Q9: Can I take it with "X" medication?
A9: Since we are not doctors and we do not your know individual situation, we cannot provide this advice. We can tell you that many of our customers have significantly reduced, and even completely got off of, prescription medicines after using these products. (Again, please consult your physician regarding your specific situation)
Q10: Is it legal where I live? Do I need a prescription? Do I need a medical marijuana card? I have seen in the local news that our state did not legalize CBD Oil. How can it be legal here?
A10: Rest assured, the products we sell are legal in all 50 States and approximately 40 countries worldwide. It does not require any prescription or medical card in the United States. If you are in another country, please check your local laws. Many states have begun legalizing CBD Oil from Marijuana; and some states have voted it down. While CBD is CBD and it does not matter whether it comes from marijuana or hemp for it to be effective, because marijuana has legal issues, CBD Oil from Marijuana may or may not be legal in your state. However, CBD Oil from Hemp IS LEGAL in all 50 states, regardless of your state's laws on marijuana and marijuana CBD Oil.
Q11: Will I get "high" when using? Is it addictive?
A11: No. THC is the compound in cannabis that makes one "high.” The amount of THC in hemp is so negligible that we are not aware of anyone ever reporting feeling "high.” In addition, we have not heard of anyone becoming addicted to CBD Hemp Oil.
Q12: Is it safe for children and/or pets?
A12: Again, we cannot administer medical advice. Nevertheless, we can report that many toddlers are taking these products daily for many of the same medical conditions that teens and adults are using it for. As well, we are aware of numerous pets who take these products daily without any ill effects.
Q13: Why is it so expensive?
A13: The answer to this question lies in the fact that there are many steps and much plant material required to produce the end product. First, a substantial amount of hemp has to be grown, which takes months, to produce enough seeds and stalk to produce a very small amount of hemp extract. Then, the extract has to be extensively tested to ensure its compound make up and its purity. The extract is then formulated into various forms of products, such as CBD Oil Drops or Vaporizer Oil and is sold to retailers. Each entity along the way needs to earn a fair profit for their efforts. By the time you have 4 or 5 entities involved, the cost level naturally increases to what you see on the market today.
The best way to compare prices is to break each product down to a "cost per milligram of CBD.” By doing this, you can then start to compare the prices of the products. Also, keep in mind that various brands focus on various attributes. For instance, our lab, Can-Tek Lab’s LLC, focuses NOT ONLY on CBD, but also on the FULL SPECTRUM of cannabinoids so our customers get a well-rounded blend of organic compound for the best results.
Q14: What is Industrial Hemp? What is Pharmaceutical Grade Hemp?
A14: Simply put, Industrial Hemp is virtually all the hemp grown in the world today. Non-Industrial hemp would be marijuana. Because of all the cross breeding, there is little delineation between what is a hemp plant and what is a marijuana plant. Industrial hemp is the cannabis plant that is exceptionally low in THC. What we call "Pharmaceutical Grade Hemp" is Industrial Hemp that has been specifically bred to have high levels of cannabinoids and is meticulously grown to ensure exacting and high standards.
Q15: Which product would you recommend for "insert condition here"?
A15: First, the FDA will not allow us to recommend anything nor even say that CBD will or may help with any particular condition. This is unfortunate, but true. In addition, with the information from Question 4 above, you probably know by now, it is really more a matter of preference. If CBD will provide the level of well-being you are seeking, for most people, the product type does not generally matter.
Q16: Can we call you to discuss our specific situation?
A16: You can most certainly try calling. However, there is not much more the FDA will allow us to say that's not already on this page or the product pages. Also, it can be difficult, sometimes, to get through as we are a small company. If you cannot reach us by phone and still have a question that is not answered on this page or somewhere else on the website, please submit your question via an online contact form found on the "CONTACT" page accessed by clicking "CONTACT" at the very top of this page. We answer all online contacts as quickly as we can, and generally, the same business day they are submitted.
Q20: Do these products taste good?
A20: Let us first point out that taste is highly subjective. So, what tastes good to one, may not taste good to another. Secondly, let us point out that people do not typically take CBD Hemp products because they are hungry and they want some good tasting food. They are taking it for some degree of well-being and most people who have had their life changed by CBD Hemp Oil could not care less how it tastes.
Now, as for the flavor, the base of the product is a plant extract from hemp. And, just like most herbal extracts and bitters, this extract doesn't taste so good, generally speaking. This is why many manufacturers infuse the sticky, gooey extract into bottles of carrier oils for drops, into capsules, into vape oils, etc. This reformulated version of CBD Hemp Oil typically tastes better than the straight extract. So, in comparison, yes, these products taste good when compared to the straight extract. But, they all will still have some degree of "plant" or hempiness to them. Some even describe a nutty to earthy taste
Q21: Will I pass a Drug Test after using these Products?
A21: Our products have at below the legal detectable limit of 0.03%THC. You will not test positive
Q22: How do I need to store these products? What is the shelf life?
A22: Generally, these are stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. If you have a wax that is slightly too soft in your home, you can store these in your refrigerator to harden them a bit if you wish. The shelf life for these products is 2 years.
